Originally, I wanted to take this topic in a different direction, but this week I had a conversation and a dream.
The conversation was with my sister about listening to God and his timing. Stories you might have heard: people who listened to God when they heard move. They were told to move a step to the side or walk to the other side of the road; they listened and avoided death or injuries.
This might sound dramatic, but people listening to God and/or what some may call an instinct have helped many.
The other story is a bit different, and it involves missed opportunity. A black creator had an idea about a mini Lizzie McGuire figure appearing along with her content; she didn’t do it. Weeks or months later another creator had the same idea and executed it, and then the content went viral. I can’t lie and say I haven’t had ideas that I didn’t follow through with as well, so no judgement. More so, the lesson to me, and maybe you who are reading this, is about not letting ideas and dreams remain in our heads; with the grace of God, they can be brought to life.
The dream was also a heavy reminder that essentially whenever you are out of what God has told you to do, or maybe your not doing it at all or even delaying (you know that for yourself). Basically, you’re walking on ice that can break at any time; that’s not to say that God is not with you. But you could be walking in disobedience. Someone told me weeks ago that delayed obedience is still disobedience.
Regardless of what has been written above, we still can go to God in repentance (I have fallen short of the above more times than I can count). I am learning, although a bit slowly, to ask God for help and guidance instead of going straight to avoidance.
What have you learnt about God’s timing?
Have a blessed weekend
Igho
